my 5 worst and best purchases of 2023
Call me Rebecca Bloomwood and get me a green scarf, because this is my confession: I am a shopaholic. Like our friend Becky in the 2009 movie, I too feel that the world gets better when I shop.
London: The Shopping
We loved London. We loved the food, we loved the architecture, we loved the history — but most of all, we loved the shopping. Shocking, right? One of the first things we talked about while planning this trip was where we wanted to shop, and if there were any specific items we wanted to leave the UK with. Obviously, there was — and our list grew seemingly by the minute.
London: The Sights
We spent a total of six full days in London. And we saw maybe, 5-10% of the city. In all honesty, I didn’t realize how BIG the city actually is. Sure, in terms of population, I was aware — but actual land, I had no clue. So, it’s huge, and like any big city, plagued with traffic (although not as bad as I was led to believe), but it was relatively easy getting around.

A few months ago, B and I were sitting on my couch (in my old apartment), surrounded by moving boxes, basking in the Seattle summer sun that was pouring through the window. We’d been discussing plans for our first anniversary, and started throwing ideas out for an international trip. Europe was the obvious choice, and London, the instant frontrunner.
